Tuesday Sep 9 @ 03:12amGuys, I know that this isn’t a girl switching shows in a circle or a cute cat freaking out and running around a bed, but it’s important. My uncle, along with so many other people died 11 years ago tomorrow. My cousin has had to grow up without a father, her brother won’t ever get on a plane, her mother remarried to a man whose wife went down with her husband, all of them cry at the touch of a hat, sob at anything at all that reminds them of him. People at my school get so irritated about having to spend 15 minutes in class on 9/11 watching a tribute to the lost souls, but for those of us who will never get over it, it’s nice to have that one day that you can just break down and cry without having to worry about being thought of in a poor light. I hope this never happens again, and I hope that every single one of you realizes how lucky you are to still be alive today.

Tuesday Sep 9 @ 02:51amThe beautiful face of courage: Lance Cpl. William Kyle Carpenter USMC
Carpenter, 21, of Gilbert lost the eye, most of his teeth and use of his right arm from a grenade blast Nov. 21 near Marjah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Friends and family say he threw himself in front of the grenade to protect his best friend in Afghanistan, Cpl. Nick EufrazioThis deserves more notes then anything on Tumblr. It’s sad to say stupid pictures of a flower some girl takes with a Nikon D40 that her parents bought her for christmas or a picture of A Day To Remember has more notes then this. The world is fucked up. So much respect for this man.
I love this man more than any words could express. Meeting him was the best day of my life. I would take meeting him over any celebrity in the world. It still gives me chills whenever I see his face. He is the most humble person I have ever met.
A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting their coat around a young boys shoulders to let him know the world hasn’t ended.
